Stancil Campbell, Professor of Theatre at AUC, made two presentations at Wake Forest University in February 2015. On Monday, February 9th at 7pm, he directed a staged reading of the refugee play “Waiting for Hope,” followed by discussion of refugee theatre in Cairo. “Waiting for Hope” was developed by African refugees at the St. Andrew’s Drama Club under the direction of Campbell. Current Wake Forest students participated in the reading. On Tuesday, February 10th at 6pm, Campbell delivered a lecture and slide presentation entitled “Egyptian Theatre in Process.” His presentation covered major issues and concerns of producing theatre in both pre-revolution and post-revolution Egypt. Both events were in Scales 102 (Art Wing). The events were funded by the Middle East and South Asian Studies (MESA) Program and the Department of Theatre and Dance.
