Travelling abroad annually to represent Egypt in international folklore festivals, the AUC folklore group, accompanied by the AUCeyat music group, performed their first concert of the semester, Monday.

The Student Union (SU) announced that it would spend its profits collected from the 11th Talent Show on a charitable cause.

Ahmed Khalil, chair of the Public Relations Committee, said “the SU wanted to contribute to the society in every way possible in this harsh time that the country is going through, and that’s how this idea came.”

How the profits will be used will depend on how much money they talent show generates. The union is considering renovating a public school.

The Student Union denied a rumor spreading across campus that their budget for the Spring se­mester had been set at EGP 1,200,000.

Shehab Ahmed, the SU Vice-President for Fi­nancial Affairs, commented, “it is not true that the SU has this huge number in its account.”

Ahmed told The Caravan the SU is not suffering from a financial crisis, as its budget can cover the necessary expenses of this semester’s academic and developmental activities.
