A number of female students at AUC have established the Women Empowerment Club (WEC), a new community service group to help create opportunities for Egyptian and Arab women to volunteer and have effective roles in their communities.
Club founder and president Alia Eshaq told The Caravan that the club's main goal is to establish a platform for Egyptian women, where they can become more aware of their rights and duties toward their communities.
