Adam Talib, incoming Assistant Professor in the Department of Arab and Islamic Civilizations (ARIC) is a finalist for the 2012 Banipal Prize for Arabic literary translation for his translations of Sarmada (by Fadi Azzam) and The Hashish Waiter (by Khairy Shalaby).
