Anthony G. Leone, Instructor in the Department of Rhetoric and Composition, managed an event recently at the Court of Cassation where a workshop took place attended by Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, U.S. Ambassador to Egypt, Ann W. Paterson and former Chief Justice of the Court of Cassation Mohamed Hossam. Anthony teaches a program of Legal English at the Court and his two classes of students who are Judges at Court of Cassation took part in the question and answer workshop, giving Justice Ginsburg a presentation on the structure of the Egyptian Court system. Anthony co-presided at the event and he help the Egyptian Judges design and prepare the presentation for it.

Anthony Leone, JD, instructor in the Department of Rhetoric and Composition, was chosen by the United States Embassy to design and teach a course in Legal English at the Court of Cassation in Cairo. The program, which started in October of 2010, was designed to enable judges at the court to engage in comparative legal research and to participate in cross- jurisdictional programs. This past May judges who excelled in Dr. Leone’s program were chosen by the U.S. Embassy to visit U.S. Federal judicial facilities across the U.S.
